Skip Bin Hire Kiama FAQs
Quick answers
What types of waste can I dispose of in Bin Master skip bins? || Our skip bin hire in Kiama addresses multiple waste types including general household waste, renovation and construction waste, yard and landscaping waste, and business waste. Concrete and bricks need to go in a dedicated heavy-duty bin rather than a general waste bin, given the extra weight involved. For materials such as asbestos, Hazibags are available.
Are there any materials that cannot be placed in the skip bins? || Yes, we don't accept hazardous materials such as liquids, chemicals, tyres (with an extra disposal fee), gas bottles, and friable asbestos. However, non-friable asbestos disposal is allowed as long as you use our Hazibags.
Can Bin Master help with asbestos disposal? || Yes, we offer Hazibags for disposing of non-friable asbestos. Nonetheless, asbestos removal should be handled by a licensed professional. Although we provide Hazibags and handle transportation, we're not licensed for removal, so you'll need to arrange this separately.
Can I mix different types of waste in the same skip bin? || Yes, we allow mixed waste in our bins. This means you can throw in general household waste, light waste, building materials, and green waste all into the same bin. We have a few exceptions but will sort out the rest for you.
What skip bin sizes do you offer? || We stock a full range of skip bin options, from a compact 2m bin for a quick tidy-up through to 25m large site bins for bigger jobs. Having this many sizes on hand gives you easy access to whatever suits your project, and it's all part of the convenience of booking online in a few clicks. Head to our skip bin sizes page for the complete list of dimensions.
What are the dimensions of the skip bags and bins available? || Choose from skip bags available in 1m³ and 3m³ sizes, or explore skip bins ranging from 2m to 25m. Specific dimensions for each size are provided on our skip bin sizes page.
Do you offer bin hire in Kiama for commercial jobs? || Yes, our bin hire in Kiama covers commercial and construction sites as well as households, including jobs involving demolition debris. Our business manager is on hand to support worksite bookings directly, rather than routing you through a call centre, and our local team can assist with picking the right bin size for the job.
What can I put in a green waste skip bin? || Green waste bins are for garden organic material only, think lawn clippings, branches, palm fronds and leaves. One thing to keep in mind is that general household rubbish, soil, and turf can't go in with your green waste, so keep those separated if you're ordering more than one bin.
Do I need to be present for the delivery or collection of the skip bin? || You are not required to be present, but make sure that the delivery area is clear and easily accessible.
Can I place the skip bin on the road or public land? || Council permission might be necessary for placing the skip on public land, and a permit is often required if the bin will sit on a public road specifically rather than your own driveway or yard. We recommend checking with your local council or contacting us for advice on placement regulations.
What happens to the waste once it's collected? || Upon reaching our facility, waste is sorted accordingly. Recyclable materials are then transported to appropriate recycling centres, while the remainder is disposed of in the most sustainable process. Sorting waste this way helps us maximise what gets recycled and keeps as much as possible out of landfill, supporting a more sustainable future for the Illawarra.
How long can I keep the skip bin for? || The standard hire period for our skip bin hire in Kiama is 7 days. Should you require the skip for a longer period, you can extend the hire agreement by adding extra days, and we're happy to arrange long term hire if your project needs it. Just let us know your plan upfront and we'll work out a hire period that suits.
Is there a weight limit for skip bins? || Yes, there are specified weight limits for different skip sizes. Going over these limits could result to additional fees.
How much does it cost to rent a skip? || The cost to hire a skip varies depending on several factors including the type of waste, the presence of specific items such as mattresses and tyres, and the duration of the hire. Prices for hiring our Kiama skip bins start as low as AU$320 for a 2m skip designated for concrete/brick waste. On the other hand, skip bag hire starts at AU$180 for a 1m³ skip bag designated for green waste. Additional charges may apply for mattresses, tyres, and extended hire periods, impacting the final cost. Your final price comes down to a combination of waste type, bin size, and how long you need the bin for, so it's always worth checking that your quote includes both delivery and collection, not just the hire itself. We keep pricing straightforward so you know where your money is going, and you can complete your booking online in just a few minutes.
How does Bin Master's pricing work if my bin is mostly filled with recyclable materials? || Bin Master Skip Bins Kiama values recycling and, therefore, offers individualised pricing for each bin. If your bin primarily contains recyclables, we're happy to offer a discount. This way, we encourage recycling efforts and deliver affordable solutions for our customers.

Our skip bins Kiama fleet stays local, so we pride ourselves on prompt delivery when you need a bin fast. Why hire a skip bin instead of doing multiple trips to the tip? || A skip bin lets you dispose of a large amount of rubbish in one go, rather than loading up the car or trailer and making repeated trips to the local tip. It's a stress free way of dealing with a big clean-up, and takes the hassle out of rubbish removal for most household clean-ups, renovations, and worksites. It works out to be a genuinely cost-effective option, and suits both residential and commercial jobs across Kiama, so you can get rid of the mess in one hit.
How does skip bin hire compare to Kiama's kerbside bin collection? || Kiama Municipal Council runs a three-bin kerbside system for regular household waste, recycling, and green waste. That system is great for everyday rubbish, but it's not designed for large volumes of renovation debris, building waste, or a full household clean-out. That's where a skip bin comes in. It gives you a single, larger space for waste that would otherwise take weeks of kerbside collections to get through, and we handle the sorting and recycling on our end.
